Pool Management and Plans
The board
looked carefully at the pool’s budget this past year and
identified all of the indirect costs associated with
running the pool – payroll administration, utilities,
etc. We then worked up a plan to keep the pool
running in 2012 at the same cost as for 2011. We will
achieve this goal by modifying the pool hours slightly
during low attendance times, more efficiently staffing the
pool, and fixing our operational costs. We are able
to control the pool’s operational expenses by engaging an
outside pool management firm to handle the staffing,
payroll, chemicals, and routine maintenance for a set
contracted amount. Bringing in an outside management
firm also ensures full compliance with state regulations,
consistent safety training, and improved risk
management.
The pool will
be managed by Pool Watch, Inc. in 2012. This firm
works with 60 area pools, including Lake Barrington
Shores. The firm will consider all returning Fox
Point pool staff for positions in 2012.
